About our research

How we research creator fee data.

Every Rowfix calculator is backed by published platform documentation, seller policy pages, and primary-source research notes. Here is exactly how the numbers are sourced, how often they are refreshed, and how we mark anything we had to estimate.

Last updated April 20, 2026.

Primary sources only.

Commission percentages, processing fees, revenue splits and App Store taxes are pulled directly from the platform’s official seller or creator documentation — TikTok Shop Seller Center, YouTube Help, Meta Business Help Center, the Apple App Store Review Guidelines, and Amazon’s Associates Program Operating Agreement.

When a platform publishes multiple rates (e.g. US vs UK commission, Electronics vs Standard, Year-1 vs Year-2 splits), we model every published variant rather than averaging them away.

CPM and RPM estimates reference a rolling mix of creator-reported numbers from public earnings screenshots, industry benchmark reports (Izea, Influencer Marketing Hub, Digiday) and Rowfix’s own aggregated data from creators who have shared their rate cards with us.

What counts as “2026 data”.

A calculator is labelled 2026 when every fee, split and multiplier it uses has been verified against the platform’s currently-published policy as of this update date. Fee pages move; we rebuild when they do.

Platform updates — like Meta unifying its monetization programs into the Content Monetization Program in August 2025, or TikTok’s Creative Rewards becoming Creator Rewards in 2026 — are folded into the next calculator refresh and noted in the relevant tool’s FAQ.

How we separate published from estimated.

Every number in a Rowfix calculator falls into one of three buckets:

  • Published. The platform documents the exact rate (e.g. TikTok Shop US standard commission 6%, YouTube’s 55/45 split, the 30% iOS App Store tax). These are never estimated.
  • Derived. A number computed from published rates (e.g. net per-member after both YouTube’s cut and Apple’s cut on an iOS sign-up).
  • Estimated. Ranges based on creator reports and industry data — CPM floors, sponsorship rates, RPM baselines by region. These are always shown as low / baseline / high ranges, not single numbers, and labelled as estimates in the UI.

Refresh cadence.

We revisit every calculator at least quarterly, and immediately when a platform announces a fee change. When a refresh results in a materially different number, we add a line to the tool’s FAQ noting what changed and when.

If you find a number that looks wrong, or a fee we missed, email hello@rowfix.com with a source link. We respond to every research note.

What these calculators are not.

Rowfix tools estimate creator economics — they are not tax advice, not legal advice, and not accounting software. Taxes, business expenses, agency fees and platform promotional spend are outside their scope. Use them as planning tools, not as official financial projections.
